In the Czech Republic we had a lack of protective face masks so we made them at home. Now it is obligatory to wear masks in the whole country and coronavirus testing and updates show that we slowed down the spread of the virus. How to make it at home?
Template
In the photo above you can see a finished mask and in the photo below its template (cut). The template is easy to draw on a paper and you can easily copy and spread it further. We have made hundreds of these masks and everyone is satisfied.
Which fabric to use
Use 100% cotton (I suppose you don’t have any nano-technology). If you don’t have fabric leftovers at home, you can also use an old shirt, t-shirt or bed linen… just whatever you will no longer need.
100% cotton is good for disinfection – boiling in hot water and then ironing.
The protective mask is double so you have go cut out the template four times.
Use a rubber band or cord to tie the mask.
How to sew the mask
Now it will be better to watch this video on Youtube. For our mask we just adjusted the cut because it holds better on the face.
Hold on and good luck!

You can buy a face mask at our eshop. The second one is donated where needed (eg hospitals).
